South Africa's next fuel price change takes effect on Wednesday 4 November 2026. On CEF's figures up to its report of Tuesday 27 October 2026, petrol 95 is heading down 44c a litre and diesel (0.05% sulphur) down R1.49.
The review period runs from Friday 2 October 2026 to Thursday 29 October 2026. CEF has published 18 of its 20 days so far, and the rest assume the Basic Fuel Price stays where it is now, so the figure can still move a lot before the period closes. It leaves out any slate-levy change, which the official announcement adds.
These figures include the fuel levy cut of R1.50 a litre on petrol and R3.00 on diesel, announced in the MTBPS on Wednesday 21 October 2026. Paraffin carries no fuel levy. On the Basic Fuel Price alone, petrol 95 is heading for +R1.06 and diesel for +R1.51 a litre.
