South Africa's next fuel price change takes effect on Wednesday 2 December 2026. On CEF's figures up to its report of Tuesday 3 November 2026, petrol 95 is heading down R2.31 a litre and diesel (0.05% sulphur) up R1.12.
The review period runs from Friday 30 October 2026 to Thursday 26 November 2026. CEF has published 3 of its 20 days so far, and the rest assume the Basic Fuel Price stays where it is now, so the figure can still move a lot before the period closes. It leaves out any slate-levy change, which the official announcement adds.
These figures include the fuel levy going back up by 50c a litre on petrol and R1.50 on diesel as the relief winds down, announced in the MTBPS on Wednesday 21 October 2026. Paraffin carries no fuel levy. On the Basic Fuel Price alone, petrol 95 is heading for −R2.81 and diesel for −38c a litre.
This page is updated each weekday when CEF publishes a new report. The live forecast is updated every hour, with charts and every day of the period.
